- Use 22/6 shielded cable for keypad readers.
- Use 18/4 stranded for Fail-Secure locks and 18/6 for Fail-Safe locks within 100 feet.
- Maximum reader cable length is 250 feet.
- Power supply jumper is pre-set to 12VDC. Power down before changing.
- Keypads must be installed no higher than 54 inches (to the top row of keys) above the floor if side reach is available. Otherwise 48 inches is required.
- Contact sensors are to be installed 6-8 inches from the hinges on the top of the door/header.
- Multiple batteries can be used in series for longer backup durations.
- Strikes should be set to 12v input only.
Question: “What happens if the power goes out?” Answer: There are two types of outages, electrical and ISP. We supply a backup battery with each kit. This will keep the system live for a few days depending on usage. The code and schedules live on the control board so the system will accept codes and schedules as usual. If changes are made on the portal, they will not be updated to the control board until connectivity is regained. Also, any activity at the readers will be housed and pushed to the portal when connectivity is regained.
